OHIO ACTE OATFACS DIVISION AWARDS

Overview:

The Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the Career, Technical and Adult Education profession through its Awards Program.  Nominations are accepted in seven different categories, including two Awards to recognize non-educators who have contributed and/or promoted Career Technical Education through their activities.

Nominations for the following Ohio ACTE Awards are open to any Ohio ACTE member in good standing, which means annual dues must be paid and up to date.   Nominations must be submitted by March 15, 2024.

OATFACS TEACHER OF THE YEAR 

Recognizes a teacher who provides outstanding career and technical education programming for youth and/or adults in their respective fields and communities.  Candidates make significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs that are serving to improve and promote career and technical education through Family and Consumer Sciences Education. OATFACS membership required.


CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION NEW TEACHER

Recognizes a new teacher, up to 5 years teaching experience,  who has enhanced their professional development through collaboration  with OATFACS, Office of Career Technical Education and FCCLA to provide quality classroom programs. OATFACS membership required.


DISTINGUISHED SERVICE DIVISION LEADERS

Recognizes OATFACS members’ professional commitment, CTSO involvement and community service. Recipients have made contributions to improvement, promotion, development and progress of career technical education. One recipient will be identified in each area: Family and Consumer Sciences, Education and Training, and Hospitality and Tourism. OATFACS membership required.


OUTSTANDING CAREER AND TECHNICAL ADMINISTRATOR

Recognize an administrator or state staff who enhances the image of Family and Consumer Sciences Education and career and technical education through significant contributions toward development and improvement of programs.


CHAMPION FOR FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES EDUCATION

Recognize a business, industry, government (local, state, federal) or community-based agency or a representative who has exemplified extraordinary support for Family and Consumer Sciences Education.
